Mazda recently updated the CX-5 squad for the 2022 model year, and by 2023, the SUV will transition into its new model year with minimal alterations. So when the 2023 CX-5 hits the dealerships, Mazda enthusiasts will recognize a slight price hike. Furthermore, the Japanese automaker did reduce the price of two trims. However, Mazda did increase the CX-5’s destination fees.

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 has a starting price of $26,800* (excluding taxes and destination fees) for the 2.5S (base) trim. However, the destination charge is an additional $1,275 and $1,320 for Alaska. Previously, the 2022 Mazda CX-5’s destination charges were $1,225 and $1,270 (for Alaska). Moreover, the Mazda i-Activ all-wheel drive remains a standard for the CX-5 family, and every trim of the automaker’s SUV attains G-Vectoring Control Plus.

Enthusiasts can enjoy the Mazda CX-5 in eight different trims. However, Mazda CX-5 fans can anticipate a vast overhaul for 2022. The 2023 CX-5 is available in the S, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Premium Plus, Turbo, and Turbo Signature.

The Japanese automaker offers the CX-5 in Rhodium White Premium, a first-time experience for the American market. In addition to the new White paint, the Mazda SUV is available in Soul Red Crystal Metallic and Machine Gray Premium. Moreover, all three exterior colors cost an additional $595.

The CX-5 will continue to employ Mazda’s SKYACTIV-G 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine. The four-cylinder engine generates 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Then there’s the optional turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that yields 256 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

There are plenty of safety features inside the Mazda CX-5. For instance, the compact Mazda comes standardly equipped with radar cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and lane departure warning with lane-keep assist. Additionally, the base trim is the furthest thing from a disappointment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever, push-button start, and a rearview camera. Of course, the seven remaining trims add on from the phenomenally equipped S trim.
