Mazda Swims Upstream with New Rhodium White Premium Paint

There’s no need for Mazda to fight to compete within the luxury market. Instead, the Japanese automaker makes the opulent market sweat. Just take a look at the automaker’s new Large Product Group. Vehicles like the upcoming Mazda CX-90 crossover and the CX-70 exude the automaker’s luxury sentiments. Furthermore, the new members of the Large Product Group feature the longitudinal inline-six engines and impeccable driving dynamics. 

Although the CX-70 and CX-90 demonstrate Mazda’s crisp ingenuity, the Mazda color designers are kicking the colors into overdrive with a third special paint color. With the use of the proprietary Takuminuri process, the new Rhodium White Premium joins the likes of the iconic Soul Red Metallic and Machine Gray Premium. As a result, Europe will be the first to attain the magnetic Rhodium White Premium for the all-new Mazda CX-60. Ultimately, the new paint color is thinner and more alluring than the Snowflake White Metallic. Moreover, the Rhodium White Premium caters to the appeal of the company’s Kodo design language.

Similar to the Soul Red Metallic and Machine Gray Premium, the new Rhodium White Premium comprises three layers. Additionally, the “fine-grain white” amplifies translucence. Above the white pigment is the “ultra-thin high luminance aluminum,” the reflective layer of aluminum flakes arrayed to demonstrate the vehicle’s sheet metal. From there, a top clear coat seals everything into place. After that, the Takuminuri process applies the paint to the vehicle so that it captivates the human eye.

Additionally, the middle color layer of Rhodium White Premium utilizes 30 percent less than the color layer of the Snowflake White Metallic, which echoes the sentiments of Mazda’s zero-emission goal.  

The three-row CX-90  will be the first to inherit the Rhodium White Premium paint and the second to inherit the paint job is the two-row CX-70.
