Mazda Reveals 2023 Mazda CX-50 Meridian Edition Off-Road Package

Mazda will be releasing an all-new off-road package for the 2023 Mazda CX-50. This package will be called the Meridian Edition and feature off-road equipment and accessories. Mazda initially released the CX-50 as a competitor to SUVs like the Forester and Wrangler. With increased performance and capability, the Mazda CX-50 serves as an off-road-oriented crossover SUV. This new package will provide the SUV with new additions that will help drivers navigate off-road trails. We’ll take a closer look at the package and see what consumers can expect.

All-New Meridian Edition Package For CX-50

Mazda has unveiled a new off-road package for the 2023 Mazda CX-50. This new package, called the Meridian Edition, provides the crossover SUV with additional off-road equipment. Mazda created the CX-50 as an alternative to competitors like Subaru and Jeep. The compact SUV also has a turbocharged engine and higher ground clearance than typical Mazda vehicles. This new package will provide drivers with more capability and versatility to handle trails and dirt roads better.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 comes equipped with either a 2.5L inline-four or a turbocharged 2.5L engine. Since the Meridian package is only available with the 2.5 Turbo CX-50, the compact SUV will utilize the turbocharged engine. This is paired with an all-wheel-drive system and provides the CX-50 with 256 horsepower and 320lb-ft of torque. While Mazda did not make any performance upgrades, the automaker does give the SUV 18-inch wheels and Falken all-terrain tires. Other additions include a different headlight surround, rocker panels, and a new graphic on the hood. There are also roof rack crossbars and splash guards.

Those interested in the Meridian Edition will have the choice between a Zircon Sand or Polymetal Gray metallic exterior color. Inside, the compact SUV will have a Terracota brown interior. The 2023 Mazda CX-50 Meridian Edition will start at an MSRP of $39,950 (plus destination fee). It is expected to be available in the last half of August 2022. Consumers will also have the option to purchase a bundle package with Meridian accessories for non-Meridian Edition CX-50s.
