Featuring eight distinct packages or trim levels, the CX-50 offers a choice between two powertrains: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque and a turbocharged version with 256 hp and 320 lb-ft. Both engines pair with a six-speed automatic transmission, and all CX-50 models come standard with all-wheel drive.
The regular engine boasts fuel economy ratings of 24 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined, while the turbocharged version achieves 23/29/25 mpg.
Including a $1,375 destination charge, pricing ranges from $31,675 to $44,675. The base CX-50 2.5 S Select model offers more than just basics, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch center display with HD radio and four USB ports, an eight-speaker audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, keyless entry, push-button start, and more.
Turbo engine availability begins at the fifth trim level, the CX-50 2.5 Turbo, and is exclusive to the remaining three trims.
The top-tier Turbo Premium Plus model is equipped with all the features of the other trims and adds an auto-dimming driver-side rearview mirror with Homelink, heated rear seats, navigation, and additional driver-assistance features.
The CX-50’s premium interior suits a compact SUV with a higher price tag. Even with a luxury feel, the Mazda SUV easily accommodates five occupants with ample legroom, solid construction, comfortable seating, and a peaceful cabin (children sold separately).
