The 2025 Mazda CX-90’s Premium Sport Trim and Enhanced Features Elevate the Crossover

The Mazda CX-90 is stepping into 2025 with a series of customer-focused enhancements while maintaining its starting price of $37,845* (excluding taxes and destination fees). This year’s (2024) notable addition is the Premium Sport trim, which ranges from $46,400* to $54,900* for the plug-in hybrid variant. 

This CX-90 Premium Sport trim builds on the Preferred package, featuring a sleek, blacked-out exterior with a gloss black grille, black chrome accents, and distinctive black badging. It also includes striking 21-inch metallic black wheels, piano black mirrors, and matching roof rails. The Premium Sport trim boasts a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. Comfort and convenience magnify thanks to an eight-way power driver’s seat, a head-up display, and a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink.

The Premium Sport trim also introduces advanced driver assistance features, such as Emergency Lane Keeping with Blind Spot Assist, Road Keep Assist, Head-On Traffic Avoidance Assist, Secondary Collision Reduction, and Cruising & Traffic Support. It also includes Mazda’s Intelligent Drive Select and supports a towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) with the conventional engine.

Other updates for the 2025 model year include the Preferred trims receiving a more extensive 12.3-inch infotainment system, now with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These trims also have a new wireless smartphone charger and front and rear parking sensors. Consequently, the CX-90 3.3 Turbo Preferred sees a $500 increase, starting at $40,945*. However, the CX-90 PHEV Preferred remains at its previous price of $49,945*.

Regarding powertrains, the standard model features a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engine that produces 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. For those interested in a plug-in hybrid option, the CX-90 offers a setup with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a 17.8 kWh battery pack. This configuration delivers a combined output of 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, with an electric-only range of up to 26 miles (42 km).
