Mazda Unveils Two Exciting Electric Models Designed for Everyday Life

Mazda is stepping into the future of mobility by unveiling two new electrified vehicles at Auto China 2024/Beijing International Auto Show (April 25-May 24, 2024), designed for those who appreciate innovation and style in their daily lives. The all-new Mazda EZ-6 and the concept model Mazda Arata are eager to make waves in the Chinese market, offering more choices for drivers yearning to embrace a greener way to travel. 

The Mazda EZ-6 is the first in a new series of electrified vehicles, developed in collaboration with Changan Mazda Automobile Corporation and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. Ltd. Set to launch in China by the end of 2024, the EZ-6 offers two options to suit different lifestyles: a fully electric model (BEV) and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The fully electric version may provide a range of about 600 kilometers (370 miles) on a single charge, while the hybrid model aims to offer over 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) on one fuel tank.

The Mazda Arata concept, also revealed at the event, introduces a fresh take on the modern crossover SUV, combining sleek, elegant lines with Mazda’s philosophy of “Uplifting the Human Spirit.” This concept will move into mass production by the end of 2025, creating a sophisticated new choice for Chinese consumers looking for a vehicle that reflects their modern tastes and aspirations.

Mazda’s President and CEO, Masahiro Moro, emphasized the company’s dedication to offering exciting new energy vehicles (NEVs) to Chinese drivers. “The Mazda EZ-6 is a perfect blend of Mazda’s unique design and driving performance with Changan’s advanced technology,” Moro said, adding that Mazda will continue to introduce products that resonate with the needs of Chinese customers who value cutting-edge vehicles.

The Mazda EZ-6 stands out with its “Soul of Motion” design philosophy, presenting a dynamic, flowing form that embodies energy and elegance. But it’s not just about looks—the EZ-6 promises to make driving easier and safer. The electric sedan features intelligent technologies such as an accident mitigation system. Furthermore, the EX-6 reveals smart parking that responds to voice commands outside the car, and enthusiasts can control the cabin with voice, touch, or gestures.
