It’s Here! The 2022 Mazda CX-30

Mazda recently revealed a few details on what to expect for the 2022 Mazda CX-30. One highlight is that the new all-wheel-drive premieres as a standard feature for the new year. However, the drivetrain is not the mountain’s peak since Mazda announced i-Activ AWD for all Mazda crossovers. 

Since the front-wheel drive is no longer; on paper, the new CX-30 attains a boosted base price versus its predecessor. However, a simple comparison of the 2022 CX-30 S, S Select, and S Preferred trims against the same 2021 trim reveals a price decline of $1,250. The price decline proves that the new standard all-wheel drive is inexpensive compared to its predecessor. 

The base CX-30 S has an MSRP of $22,200* (excluding destination fees). The base trim takes a nice nosedive in the price pool versus the $23,450* price tag for the AWD variant for 2021. The S Select ($24,600)* and S Preferred ($27,650)* rally in AWD enthusiasts with a reduction of $850 and $200 compared to last year (2021). 

A few fan-favorite highlights include the Carbon Edition trim. The Carbon Edition commences at $28,290*, and the trim is no stranger to the Mazda3. The foundation for the CX-30’s Carbon trim construction is the S Preferred. The new edition can stand the rain with Polymetal Gray exterior paint and settle hints of black 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and gloss black heated door mirrors. Inside is a cabin coated in red leather seats and interior trims. 

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 is also available in a vibrant new color, Platinum Quartz Metallic. The Metallic paint option is a premium paint option, but it isn’t available for the S and Carbon trims. The Polymetal Gray hangs with a few esteemed colleagues such as the Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, and Snowflake White Pearl Mica. Enthusiasts can attain the 2022 Mazda CX-30’s luscious exterior colors for an additional $395. 

Anticipate the 2022 Mazda CX-30 to arrive in dealerships by early February (2022).
