Attention Mazda CX-90 owners in the United States! There has been a recent discovery that the Approaching Vehicle Audible System Information Sound Box (AVAS ISB) in your vehicle may not be functioning correctly. This issue affects hybrid and electric vehicles and is required by U.S. regulations. Mazda has reported that the warning sound that is supposed to be emitted when the CX-90 is in reverse may be activated in any other gear but reverse due to a missing software program in the AVAS ISB. This could potentially affect the perception of vehicle directional movement and may increase the risk of an accident or injury. Therefore, it is essential to bring your vehicle back to the dealer for maintenance as soon as possible to ensure your safety.
Attention Mazda CX-90 owners, we want to let you know that there has been a recall on your vehicle due to a potential issue with the Approaching Vehicle Audible System Information Sound Box (AVAS ISB). The recall affects 17,600 CX-90s built between December 27, 2022 and July 5, 2023 at the factory in Hofu, Japan. Mazda discovered two instances of the issue in April and May while vehicles were still at its Japanese assembly plant. Although there have been no reports of accidents or injuries caused by the issue, it is important to bring your vehicle back to the dealer for maintenance to ensure your safety. Mazda has already informed dealerships of the recall and will notify owners by mail before October 3. The issue will be resolved by reprogramming the software of the AVAS ISB amplifier.
