2022 Mazda CX-5 to Receive New Facelift
Mazda has been making headlines with its all-new fully electric MX-30. The automaker has been preparing for the transition to electric vehicles as the global auto industry moves toward a cleaner and more environmentally friendly lineup. Mazda has hinted that it will aim to produce 13 new electric vehicles over the next decade. Although the automaker is changing its focus, it is still working to please consumers with its iconic sedans and SUVs. One highly anticipated vehicle is the Mazda Vision Coupe which has been teased for several years now. As for current model year vehicles, Mazda is still adding improvements and features like with the CX-5. The popular compact SUV will be getting a new look as Mazda wants to help preserve its relevance until a new generation is released. The Mazda CX-5 will see new changes to its exterior and perhaps its interior. It is expected to be revealed later in December 2021.
Mazda CX-5 Gets a Facelift
Mazda will be updating the 2022 CX-5 with a new look. The compact SUV will receive a facelift that will help polish the vehicle and keep it relevant in the current market. SUVs have grown increasingly more popular over the past few years as consumers prioritize their families and safety. SUVs offer more space and function while remaining aesthetically pleasing. Mazda has always been known for its aesthetic vehicles so a new update isn’t unexpected. Spyshots have revealed several changes to the Mazda CX-5. These include a new front bumper, some changes to the grille, and redesigned taillights. Other changes are expected but we will have to wait for confirmation.
The new 2022 Mazda CX-5 will feature a new front bumper that appears to omit any fog lamps. A single-wide central intake appears to be added instead. The compact SUV seems to feature a thicker front grille and the headlights appear to have new LED signatures. At the rear, the newly updated 2022 Mazda CX-5 looks to get thinner and wider taillights. The rear bumper looks to have more plastic cladding and some discreet reflectors. There were no shots of the interior, but the compact SUV will most likely get some interior updates like a new 8-inch infotainment system.
The Mazda CX-5 was first released in 2016. Since then it has received several updates over the years like a more powerful turbocharged engine. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 will most likely utilize the same engine and rear-wheel-drive platform. This newly updated CX-5 will allow Mazda to hold off on a new generation CX-5 until later, perhaps 2023 or 2024. Mazda fans will be happy to see Mazda continuously updating its lineup with improvements. It shows Mazda’s dedication to pleasing its consumers. We’ll have to wait for more details, but the new 2022 Mazda CX-5 is looking to be cleaner and more aesthetic than previous iterations.
