What To Expect From Mazda’s SUV Lineup In 2023
Mazda will make several changes to its SUV lineup for the 2023 model year. The Japanese automaker will also release two new SUVs, the Mazda CX-70 and Mazda CX-90. As of late, Mazda has been focusing on its electrification efforts. The automaker has been working with hybrid and plug-in hybrid variations to increase the performance and efficiency of its lineup. With its first electric vehicle, the MX-30, Mazda plans to combine a rotary engine with an electric motor to increase output. Another hybrid SUV is the CX-60 which is set to be Mazda’s most powerful vehicle yet. Although Mazda is still perfecting its hybrid technology, the automaker has made several updates to its SUV lineup, so we’ll see what consumers can expect.
Updates To Mazda SUV Lineup
Mazda will make several changes to its lineup for the 2023 model year. The Japanese automaker has been focusing on hybrid technology as of late, but many modifications affect Mazda’s combustion engine lineup. However, two new SUVs will be revealed, the Mazda CX-70 and Mazda CX-90. These new SUVs are expected to ride on Mazda’s all-new longitudinal-engine platform. They are also likely to arrive equipped with a new inline-six engine. It is rumored that an electric motor may also accompany the inline-six, thereby making the SUVs either hybrids or plug-in hybrids. Additional details will be released later this year. For now, we’ll focus on the updates being made.
One of the vehicles receiving an update is the 2023 Mazda CX-30. The subcompact SUV will feature an improved naturally aspirated 2.5L engine. This new engine will deliver higher output than before, and it will also offer greater efficiency. Another vehicle that will see an update is the 2023 Mazda CX-5. The compact crossover will not see any powertrain adjustments, but rather it will see a new Rhodium White exterior paint option.
Another vehicle that will receive changes is the 2023 Mazda CX-50. Newly released, the rugged, compact SUV will be getting a new Meridian Edition trim. This new trim will equip the CX-50 with black hood graphics, two-tone 18-inch wheels, and several other aesthetic items. Regarding updates, these are the only Mazda vehicles that will see any changes. As previously mentioned, the CX-70 and CX-90 are slated to debut in 2023. Both SUVs will be three-row mid-size SUVs, with the CX-90 replacing the CX-9. They also may arrive with hybrid powertrains. For now, we’ll be staying tuned for more information.
