The Mazda Miata is Still An Icon

2023 Mazda Miata Is Still A Top Contender

Along with a new exterior paint color option, the 2023 Miata has also been improved to offer better control and stability. To accomplish this, Mazda improved the valving of the coupe’s dampers as well as the thickness of the anti-roll bars. Mazda engineers also utilized Kinematic Posture Control which is a new mechanical solution that applies a small amount of brake force to the inside rear wheel when cornering. This system provides owners with more stability and control when cornering. It also lets drivers enjoy smoother handling and precision.

For its engine, the 2023 Miata comes equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that delivers 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. This 2.0L can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Both transmissions have been upgraded with precise forward ratios thus ensuring maintained momentum. The Miata also offers a smooth and engaging driving experience thanks to its chassis and double-wishbone suspension. 

On top of exceptional handling and performance, the Mazda Miata is affordable starting at an MSRP of $29,325 (plus destination fee). Consumers can also opt for higher-level trims like the Club and Grand Touring. Both feature a six-speed manual transmission although owners can opt for a six-speed automatic with the Grand Touring. These trims feature packages like the BBS and Recaro which add additional styling elements like wheel and brake upgrades. While they are not necessary, they do add a special flair to the sports coupe. Overall, the 2023 Mazda Miata proves to be an affordable sports car that has continued to be iconic due to its engaging driving experience and impressive handling.
