The turbocharged variations, however, are of another caliber. The turbocharged engine generates 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Nevertheless, if it’s a date night and a CX-30 fan is feeling a little spicy with the pump of some 93 octane, then the output jumps up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.

The CX-30’s fuel economy rates reach 26 mpg combined for the base engine and 25 mpg combined for the turbocharged variation. Although the fuel economy figures are 4 to 5 mpg less than the CX-30’s less powerful competitors, the performance is undefeated, especially from the automakers who invented “Zoom-Zoom.” 

Technology 

Just as the Mazda CX-30 astounds with the outside, the interior features are jaw-dropping. So, of course, an upscale interior is synonymous with the automaker’s logo. However, one area where the Japanese automaker dominates is the sound system. Premium trims for the CX-30 feature the explosive Bose 12 speaker sound system.

Regarding infotainment, the Mazda crossover features an 8.8-inch display that’s operable through a multifunctional control knob or voice command. In addition to the infotainment functionality, the CX-30 also supports Apple Carplay and or Android Auto integration. 

Mazda never falls short of safety with various levels of safety features for the crossover. For instance, the premium plus package includes traffic jam assist, parking sensors, and smart brake support. However, even without the upgraded package, the standard CX-30 provides forward collision warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
