More News From the 2023 Mazda 3

Now that the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter or the base engine is gone for the 2023 Mazda 3, the sedan or hatchback inherits some much-needed updates. For instance, the Mazda 3 2.5 S trim comes standardly equipped with the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four. Since the Mazda 3 enhanced its engine, the new starting price for the base trim commences at $23,615. Even though the new starting price reveals an $1850 price increase over the 2023’s predecessor, the 2022 Mazda 3, the new 2.5 S is more equipped and more powerful.  

Even the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine delivers more horsepower than ever before, with five more horsepower for a delivery of 191 horsepower. Additionally, the 191 horsepower is more than the previous base engine’s output of 155 horsepower. However, the turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four that delivers 250 horsepower remains available for the Mazda 3’s premium trims for a starting price of $33,515.  

In addition to the new base engine, the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter yields exceptional fuel-economy performance. The enhanced fuel economy is systemic to the updated cylinder-deactivation system. As a result, combined ratings increased to 1 mpg for most trims, plus city and highway ratings also incurred an increase in gas mileage as well. 

The 2023 Mazda 3 features front-wheel drive standard, while all-wheel drive isn’t optional until enthusiasts climb up to the 2.5 S Carbon Edition. However, all-wheel drive premiers standard on the 2.5 S Premium and 2.5 Turbo trims. Furthermore, enthusiasts’ favorite front-wheel drive Mazda 3 2.5 S Premium hatchback remains available with the six-speed manual transmission for $30,215 and possibly more, depending on what features they would like to add. 

The creators of Zoom-Zoom assure that the 2023 Mazda 3 hatchback will cause unrest in dealerships by the Fall of 2022. The Mazda 3 sedan will follow behind with a Winter release (2022).
