It Doesn’t Get any Better than the 2023 Mazda CX-60

The Mazda CX-60 is the Japanese automaker’s first plug-in hybrid, and the luxurious SUV includes an i-Activ all-wheel-drive setup that supplies power to the rear wheels. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variation will take the market by storm in 2023. 

The CX-60 PHEV combines a 2.5-liter gas engine with an electric motor. Mazda details that the combustion engine renders 189 horsepower, and the electric motor will produce 134 horsepower. That brings the e-Skyativ’s horsepower to 323. 

Mazda’s newly found ‘Large Product Group’ already has a new member, the CX-60. However, even though the SUV is large, the vehicle is spirited, accelerating to 62 mph in less than 6 seconds. The CX-60 electronically maxes out at 124 mph, but the speeds max out at 87 mph once switched to PHEV mode. Speaking of PHEV, the CX-60’s battery pack stores enough power for 39 miles of range. 

Since the Mazda CX-60 is a part of the Large Product Group, let’s talk about the vehicle’s size. The Mazda SUV stretches to 186.8 inches long, 74.4 inches wide, and 65.7 inches tall. The Japanese automakers ensured the most luxurious experience with a fine-tuned body structure, suspensions, driving, sound insulation, steering, and seats.    

Outside, the CX-60 proffers a dashing new Rhodium White Premium Metallic Paint. The nose of the Mazda CX-60 is long to shelter the longitudinally mounted engines. The powertrain pairs with the newly designed eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the multi-plate clutch replaces the hydraulic torque converter. The Mazda’s PHEV drive modes include normal, sport, off-road, towing, and EV. 

The CX-60’s lavish interior solidifies Mazda’s mission as a capable luxury brand. Inside the Mazda CX-60’s cabin is a cozy and comfortable environment. The SUV’s baseboards are bamboo-colored with seams that resemble the garments of a traditional Japanese worker (jinbei).
